I felt like I failed my kids this week

We got hit with a pile of dental bills for the kids this week.

And it wrecked me more than I expected.

Not just because of the cost...though yeah, it’s a lot.

But because I felt like I failed them.

Like I should’ve had us more prepared. Like I’ve been coasting and hoping things would just magically work out without doing the real work.

That’s on me.

And it’s a brutal feeling of trying to manage fear, appointments (and general anaesthetic)… all before sending them off to camp.

Thankfully, my wife has been incredible. She is managing what needed to be covered for Henry - who had it the worst (and usually does given his rare disease).

I've been in avoidance mode.

- I’ve spent years learning how to build systems.

- I understand how to scale, automate, build and implement AI tools all with trust - backwards and forwards.

- I’ve helped other people win with that knowledge… but when it comes to building something real and lasting for myself?

I’ve been sitting on it.

Helping some people here and there. Doing some career coaching. Which I enjoy.

But now its time for focus.

I’m picking a lane

I’m restarting this newsletter.

I’m going all-in on real automation and AI — not hype, not gimmicks, but tools that save time, make money, and build trust.

Based on process and ideas that actually work - not just throwing tools on top of poor and slimy process.

I’m building again. Talking to people. Listening harder than ever.

I still don’t have all the answers. Still figuring out where my people hang out. LinkedIn? Email? IG? TikTok?

But I’m done waiting.

Because my kids are my future. And they deserve better.

If you’ve been sitting on your skills too just hit reply. Let’s stop overthinking our lives and focus on what's important. Let’s turn that buried experience into something that 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘴.

I’m figuring this out in real time. But I know this: It’s easier when you’re not doing it alone.

P.S. Last week I made a quick video showing how I built my Second Brain using Obsidian + ChatGPT to turn scattered knowledge into actual results. If you’re sitting on tons of notes, ideas, or content and don’t know what to do with it—watch this video It’s how I’m building clarity, one node at a time. I'll be recording a more thorough version soon.
